We have heard many times that fats are harmful to health, because they clog arteries, increase the risk of heart disease, cause obesity...
However, British cardiologist Asim Malhotra finds exactly the opposite. And he's not the only one!
In fact, new research shows that your body's number one enemy is sugar.
In addition, Dr. Malhotra states that high-fat products are good for health and there is ample evidence showing that fats not only do not cause heart problems, but a diet containing high-fat dairy products protects against heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Malhotra encourages his patients to eat fats, but to avoid “light” products.
"I advise them to eat high-fat products and items that contain saturated fats. When I tell them to also reject all those that supposedly lower cholesterol, they look at me in surprise," says the cardiologist.
He also explained that all products that supposedly lower cholesterol increase the risk of heart disease and says that fats are not the (main) culprit for obesity. Swedish expert, Dr. Andreas Enfeld, who invented the low-carb, high-fat diet, says that many people think his diet is a "ticking time bomb", but while people are getting healthier all over the world, the fact is that in Sweden the number of people with excess body weight is gradually decreasing.
In addition, two studies conducted by medical researchers at the University of Cambridge have shown that saturated fats from dairy products, if consumed in moderation, reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and the risk of heart disease. /Telegraph/
