The Cannes Film Festival red carpet is known for extravagant appearances and stunning dresses, but on Saturday evening, a completely unusual character grabbed the attention - a man dressed as a real bird.
Before the premiere of the film "Die, My Love" by director Lynne Ramsay, starring Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence, a participant surprised the audience by appearing in a full condor costume equipped with beak, feathers and a completely "bird-like" attitude.
Although at first glance it seemed like a strange thing, the costume had a special meaning. It was a reference to the documentary "I Love Peru", which is being shown in the "Cannes Classics" section.
The condor, a symbolic bird in Peruvian culture, is considered the mediator between heaven and earth.
According to sources, the man in question left the red carpet emitting screams that imitated the condor, adding even more drama to this unusual appearance.
Festival organizers have recently banned nude appearances and "overly voluminous" dresses on the red carpet, but, so far, there is no official ban on condors.
