The Vice President of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, has reacted to the actions of the acting government, describing them as an excess of legal powers and a violation of institutional order.
Tahiri emphasized that a government in resignation is not simply “on hold,” but functions with limited powers, clearly defined by the Law on Government. He referred to Article 31 of this law, which prohibits the initiation of new procedures for appointments to public positions during this period.
According to him, this ban also applies to the period after the dissolution of the Assembly, until the election of a new government with full legitimacy.
In this context, Tahiri expressed concern about the announcement of vacancies for about 20 senior leadership positions by the outgoing government.
"These actions not only contradict the spirit of legal restrictions, but also create the perception of institutions being captured at a moment of transition, when major decisions must be left to the new legitimacy," he stated.
Finally, Tahiri emphasized that respecting the law is not a matter of choice, but an obligation for every institution and power holder.
