On February 11, from 18:00 PM, the book "I am a Muslim" by author Ben Blushi will be promoted at the 'Dukagjini' Library.
There will be a meeting with the author and a discussion about the book and the topics it addresses.
Ben Blushi’s novel “I Am a Muslim” is an ironic and philosophical account of the clash between religion and the secular state in modern Albania. The events take place on the Street of Kavaja, where a writer confronts the slow Islamization of society and his private life, including his second wife, who becomes a believer. After a trip to Mecca, lonely and threatened by Islamists, he becomes a Muslim, turning the novel into a metaphor for a man who seeks salvation in religion after losing faith in society.
"I am a Muslim" is Ben Blushi's twelfth publication, following the successes with the bestsellers "Living on the Island", "Othello, the Arab of Vlora", "The Candidate" and "The Conspiracy".
