The head of the Vetëvendosje branch in Skenderaj, Hysni Mehani, on April 10 of this year referred to the mayor of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku, as "Sami Serbia" in a Facebook post.
Attempting to ironize the criticism the government had received for its relations with the US, Mehani wrote: Down with Sami Serbia.
"Sami Serbia is destroying us with America by creating parallel structures without coordination with our American friends. Down with America and our friends, down with Sami Serbia," he wrote, a post that is still public on his Facebook profile.

The Vetëvendosje Movement said today that Mehani was physically attacked by the mayor of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku, in a cafe in this city.
But Lushtaku denied that he had attacked, saying that citizens reacted after Mehani had called him "Sami Serbia".
This was denied by former Vetëvendosje MP Arjeta Fejza, who said she had been drinking coffee with Mehan at the moment when, according to her, Lushtaku approached and attacked her. /Express/
