It's no secret that Barcelona are prioritizing the transfer of a new center forward, as they aim to replace the departing Robert Lewandowski.
Julian Alvarez and Joao Pedro are currently the two main candidates, but now a third name has been added to the list, with just over a month until the summer transfer window opens.
The feeling within the club is that a financially significant transfer could be made this summer, especially if Barcelona return to the 1:1 rule in La Liga, as expected.
However, with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea planning to be very aggressive in negotiations for Alvarez and Pedro respectively, the Catalans are aware that they need alternatives.
For this reason, they are considering repeating the "Lewandowski trick" of four years ago by signing Harry Kane.
According to "MD", the Bayern Munich striker is the third name at the top of Barcelona's list for a new striker in the summer transfer window, and he would cost cheaper than Alvarez or Pedro.
Kane is a player Barcelona have been tracking for some time. He has been in spectacular form this season with 58 goals in 50 games in all competitions, and despite turning 33 this summer, the Catalans can see in Lewandowski an example of a veteran striker who could still be very valuable.
Earlier in the season, it was reported that Kane has a €65 million release clause in his contract with Bayern.
That would make him significantly cheaper than Alvarez or Pedro, for whom their clubs are said to be asking more than €100m – a figure that is roughly the maximum Barcelona are willing to pay for a young striker.
As for options, Kane would be a fantastic choice. However, he is showing no desire to leave Bayern this summer and seems very settled in Bavaria./Express newspaper/
