Barcelona have expressed concerns to UEFA regarding the length of the grass at Atletico Madrid's Metropolitano stadium ahead of the crucial Champions League quarter-final tie.

Coach Hansi Flick was seen discussing the issue with the UEFA delegate during the team's last training session, writes "Goal", reports "Gazeta Express".

The footage showed the German coach pointing towards the pitch and commenting on the height of the grass, immediately fuelling speculation that Barcelona were unhappy with the pitch conditions ahead of the crucial European challenge.

According to reports, Catalan club officials later clarified that no official complaint had been filed.

However, it was confirmed that Flick had made a remark to UEFA representatives, who then followed standard pre-match pitch inspection procedures.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid have rejected suggestions that their pitch has problems.

According to the same sources, the Madrid club has emphasized that the grass is in good condition, even better than a month ago.

They also highlighted that the higher temperatures in Madrid in recent weeks have helped maintain the quality of the pitch at the "Metropolitano".

Atletico Madrid won the first leg of the quarter-finals at Camp Nou with a score of 2:0 and tonight will try to maintain this advantage in the Spanish capital.

On the other hand, the Catalan giant goes to Madrid in an attempt to overturn the result and secure the semi-finals of this prestigious competition. /Express newspaper
