Liverpool manager Arne Slot has risked angering Mohamed Salah again as the Egyptian star prepares to leave Anfield in the summer.

Salah announced in March that he would leave Liverpool by mutual consent at the end of this season, despite having one year left on his contract.

The 33-year-old has had a weaker than usual season, with 7 goals and 6 assists in 25 Premier League appearances.

His relationship with Slotin was further strained when he was left out of the squad for a Champions League match against Inter, following public criticism of the Dutch coach following the 3-3 draw against Leeds United in December.

He is also expected to miss the weekend's match against Chelsea due to a hamstring injury, although it was initially feared he could miss the rest of the season.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Salah expressed concerns about the team's mentality following his departure.

"I want the boys to succeed here. I want the club to be there. And that's one of my main concerns... when I leave, I need an example here. People who come to the gym early... and others see it and say: 'He's here, I need to be there too,'" he said.

He added that if this standard is not maintained, it will be difficult for the club to continue winning trophies.

Sloti, on the other hand, responded at the press conference by emphasizing that he agrees with the importance of standards, but rejected the idea that they are declining.

"I'm not worried about that, not at all. Standards are not only important in the gym, but also on the field. Do you understand me?" Sloti said.

He added that current standards are at a good level and that young players, including those from the academy, are learning from examples like Salah and others.

However, the statements from both indicate an increasingly tense relationship at the end of an important era for Liverpool and for Salah himself./Express newspaper/
