Former LDK MP, Arben Gashi, has reacted after being left out of the LDK Presidency by Lumir Abdixhiku.
Gashi said that he has spoken openly within the party about the problems he has considered, however, he says that no action has been taken even though in reality it has been established that they exist.
Gashi said that there is a large gap between the LDK and the voters, therefore the party needs new leadership and energy.
Full reaction:
Dear supporters, voters and sympathizers of the LDK, citizens of Kosovo,
After the announcement of the new LDK Presidency, I have received many phone calls and messages from you and the media. Therefore, I am stating it clearly:
I am not part of the new LDK Presidency.
Since the conclusion of the February 2025 elections, I have spoken openly within the LDK structures about the situation in the party and the loss of internal trust. I have proposed concrete actions to distance myself from irregularities and to create a new momentum, inclusive, competitive and with a clear vision.
These proposals did not find support in the vote, although the reality was acknowledged in words.
I rejected exceptions and sought unity. Not for individuals, but for an idea: that a party that aims to lead must first be united and true to itself.
Even after the December 2025 elections, where the result was not what LDK deserved, I again presented analyses and concrete solutions. A different direction was chosen. I accept this as a political fact, but not as the end of my beliefs.
Today I say it without hesitation:
The gap between LDK and voters is not a coincidence, it is a consequence of the lack of courage to change in time.
A political cycle has ended.
LDK needs a new cycle, with new leadership and energy, with restored faith in its authentic values.
Because:
Trust is not required – it is earned.
Hope is not promised – it is built.
Change doesn't wait – it happens.
Today, Kosovo lacks faith and hope more than anything else. It needs a politics that accepts reality, but builds the future. It needs a sincere commitment that puts the citizen at the center, it needs the true values of the LDK.
I believe that these values can be restored. And I will work for this without hesitation.
Will the LDK find the strength to do this?
That remains to be seen.
I will continue to be where I have always been:
on the side of principles, the voter, and the truth.
You blessed priests!
