Authorities are organizing a new flight to evacuate North Macedonian citizens from several Middle Eastern countries. The plane is expected to depart from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and due to the lack of an agreement for direct flights with the Saudi authorities, the landing will take place at Pristina airport. From there, passengers will be transported by buses to Skopje.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a total of 153 passengers have been registered to depart from Riyadh airport so far. Of these, 9 are from Saudi Arabia, 15 from Bahrain, 96 from Qatar and 33 from Kuwait.
The ministry emphasizes that the organization of the flight and all related expenses are covered by the Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timco Mucunski, previously stated that the evacuation of North Macedonian citizens from countries in the region is being carried out in a coordinated manner and is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the second group of citizens evacuated from Dubai, leaving the territory of the United Arab Emirates, arrived at Skopje International Airport. A total of 150 passengers traveled on that flight, of whom 125 were citizens of North Macedonia, while the rest were citizens of several countries in the region and Europe.
According to the ministry's data, there are currently about 200 North Macedonian citizens in the United Arab Emirates, but so far they have not requested evacuation.
