An international criminal network involved in trafficking girls from Latin America and Central Asia to Albania for prostitution was dismantled by a large-scale operation by Albanian authorities in cooperation with EUROPOL, EUROJUST and the police of Colombia and Croatia.
The operation, conducted within the framework of a several-month investigation by the Tirana Prosecutor's Office (criminal proceeding no. 846/2025), led to the execution of 19 security measures – 9 in Albania and 10 in Colombia – while 3 people were declared wanted. 48 foreign nationals, who were trafficked for prostitution purposes through online "escort" platforms, were criminally prosecuted.
At the head of the network was citizen LB, 25 years old, arrested in Colombia, who recruited girls and organized trips to Albania. They were exploited in hotels in Tirana, under threats and violence. One of the arrested had adapted a hotel on “Reshit Collaku” street as a place of prostitution, while others were involved in logistics, financial management through cryptocurrencies and drug distribution.
