Over the past two days, on February 9 and 10, 2026, prosecutors from the Specialist Prosecutor's Office in The Hague repeated the lies fabricated by the Serbian Secret Service. Among these lies, mention is made of the meeting that the KLA Diplomatic Group had with the Director of the US State Department for Southeast Europe, Mr. Laurence Rossin.
According to this, in response to the concerns expressed by the American diplomat regarding the arrest of LDK officials Jakup Kastrati and Cen Desku, I allegedly told him that "we are dealing with two collaborationist spies of the repressive Serbian regime. They have been arrested because they have caused damage to our cause and he said that the General Staff is the authority to allow access to them."
Such a claim is a blatant lie.
The meeting of the KLA Diplomatic Group with the US State Department Director for Southeast Europe, Mr. Laurence Rossin, was held at the headquarters of the US mission to the United Nations in Geneva, on December 3, 1998.
FIVE days before this meeting, on November 28, 1998, the KLA released Cen Desku, Jakup Kastrati, and two Serbian journalists.
At a press conference organized for the occasion, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Kosovo, William Walker, stated that this move was good for Kosovo and that he hoped it would mark the beginning of the release of all political prisoners. William Walker's statement and the news of the release of Cen Desku, Jakup Kastrati and the two Serbian journalists were broadcast by the most important media agencies in the world and consequently Mr. Laurence Rossin was unable to ask the KLA to allow representatives of the OSCE Mission to visit the prisoners who had been released five days earlier.
It is shameful to see educated lawyers in democratic countries use lies to support a fabricated indictment based on fabrications by the Serbian Secret Service.
