Akil Gjakova has advanced to the third round of the European Judo Championship, which is being held in Podgorica, Montenegro.
The Kosovar contestant passed the first round without a fight, while in the second he defeated Frenchman Maxime Gobert, who suffered a knee injury and withdrew from the match after being unable to continue, writes "Gazeta Express".
In the third round, Akili will face Moldovan Victor Sterpu, through whom he aims to secure qualification to the quarterfinals.
