Vetëvendosje MP Agim Bahtiri, through a post on his Facebook profile, has hit out at the Democratic League of Kosovo, after it became clear that they did not agree with Kurti to reach an agreement on the election of the new president.
Bahtiri writes, "Today it was proven that Lumir Abdixhiku's LDK has remained hostage to the old mentality. Although we offered them the most serious offers, including 4 ministries and the first Deputy Prime Minister, or alternatively the Speaker of the Parliament, they refused. This proves that the LDK does not seek cooperation for the state, but seeks bargaining like a decade ago."
According to him, "the rejection of this very serious offer proves that they do not intend to govern the country corner by corner, but their intention still remains to be together with the Serbian List for the division of Kosovo. This was also proven on Friday, when the opposition invited the Serbian List to be present in the hall, so that the Vetëvendosje Movement and its partners would not have the opportunity to have two-thirds of the votes in the assembly to elect members of the Constitutional Court, because they also want to hold the Constitutional Court hostage."
Further, he states, "you must understand well: Albin Kurti is not like your former colleagues with whom you made deals overnight, where you always had Radojcic as your "godfather" to secure your seats."
"We are ready to go to elections whenever necessary, but we never make agreements to the detriment of Kosovo. We are not like you," he continues.
In the end he writes "I call on the membership of Ibrahim Rugova's LDK: Rise up and free yourself from these usurpers who have Kosovo as the last item on the agenda. We are not like you. The state is not for sale!".
