Following the dismissal of two officials at the Drenova prison, new leaders have been appointed to the institution. The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, has appointed Lorent Nakon as the prison director, while Artan Kocibelli has been appointed as the chief of prison police.
The dismissal of Fatjon Fasho and Sokol Kacolle came after the seizure of a mobile phone in the cell of Laert Haxhiu, a high-risk prisoner convicted of serious criminal offenses.
In this case, SPAK has launched investigations, verifying not only the contents of the phone, but also possible connections that may have led to its security inside the cell. It is suspected that the conversations of the convict known as "the strongman of Lushnja" were discovered during wiretapping of another case that is still under investigation.
