The capital's Inner Ring Road was inaugurated, one of the largest infrastructure projects aimed at facilitating traffic and improving movement in the capital.
The opening ceremony was held at the end of "Nora e Hotit" street, at the junction with the Central Ring Road, near the bridge in the direction of the "Dukagjin" roundabout.
The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, said that the project was a major investment for the capital and that its implementation required a long period of work.
"It is a major project for the capital, which we have been working on for a long time. Today we are also inaugurating it, we are opening it. We were also below, in addition to asphalting, there is also lighting, and a pedestrian area. It is a key axis for the capital, namely the Inner Ring Road, which will greatly help traffic in the capital. It is one of the major projects. Now we will also make a slight change in traffic movement as a result of this major project, which will greatly help traffic in this part of the capital", said Rama.
The LDK presidential candidate, Vjosa Osmani, praised the project as an investment that directly impacts the lives of citizens and improves traffic in the capital.
"This is an achievement that shows that when work is done, when there is a vision, when there are projects, life is made easier for the citizens of Pristina and all of Kosovo. This is one of the projects that really facilitates traffic in our Pristina, but, as the mayor said, it is important that it does not stop there, that there is support from the central level for the Capital Ring Road and other major projects, which are necessary, starting from Pristina, but also at the level of all of Kosovo," said Osmani.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo and candidate for prime minister, Lumir Abdixhiku, said that the Inner Ring Road is a project of strategic importance for the capital.
"A project that, if it had not been blocked last year with those financial delays, would have been a project from last year. But good works do not stop, and they can never stop. I am happy for this capital project as an iconic sign of Pristina, because as you know, the Inner Ring of the capital solves many internal problems of the city, but let's be clear, without the Outer Ring of the capital, Pristina is still lacking. What we have already pledged as part of the program, we reaffirm once again. So yes, we will support the Outer Ring of the capital, we will support the long-term loan and we will support all capital projects in the municipality of Pristina", said Abdixhiku. /KP
