An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck central Turkey early this morning, Turkish emergency services said.
According to the state Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD), the epicenter of the earthquake was 46 kilometers north of the city of Tokat, at a depth of 6.4 kilometers.
The earthquake struck at 3:35 a.m. local time and was felt in several provinces, AFAD said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake.
