The Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, namely the Department for Serious Crimes, in close coordination with the Kosovo Police, specifically the Anti-Drug Unit in Peja, announced through a press release that today they carried out an action in the village of Jabllanicë e Vogël, Municipality of Peja, Express writes.
The prosecution has confirmed that during this action, a laboratory for the production of narcotics of the Cannabis sativa type was discovered and destroyed.
"As part of the anti-drug operation of the "Stop Drugs" operational plan, a total of 91 narcotic plants of the Cannabis sativa type, sophisticated equipment for the production of narcotics, a firearm, and illegal connection to the electrical network for the operation of these devices within the framework of illegal activity were seized," the announcement states.
During the action, Kosovo Police arrested a suspect, who was detained for 48 hours by order of the state prosecutor.
Also, with the authorization of the state prosecutor, the relevant police units have seized and then destroyed 91 narcotic plants, while the other seized evidence will serve in the criminal procedure.
"The State Prosecutor, within the legal deadline, will file a request to ensure the presence of the defendant in the criminal procedure. The Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, remains committed to fighting crime and bringing to justice all persons who commit criminal offenses. At the same time, all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are encouraged to cooperate closely with the State Prosecutor and the Kosovo Police, in the function of law enforcement and guaranteeing public safety," the announcement concludes.
