A woman's breasts dramatically enlarged after receiving the Covid vaccine, marking the first case of its kind in the world.

The 19-year-old from Canada went from size B to size G, triple within six months after receiving two doses of the vaccine.

She received the first dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine in September 2022, and immediately afterward felt a tingling sensation and slight breast enlargement.

These effects worsened further after the second dose, which he received about three weeks later.

She finally went to the doctors six months later, when her breasts reached an extreme size. For comparison, the average breast size for American women is DD.

Doctors who treated him suggested that the Covid vaccine may have caused pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH), an excessive growth of cells that usually causes benign lumps in the chest and has only been seen in about 200 patients worldwide.

This is the first case linking PASH to a vaccine, although experts warned that it cannot be proven with certainty that the vaccine was the cause.

It is not clear how the vaccine may have caused this increase, but some studies have suggested that Covid vaccines may trigger an immune response that leads to temporary swelling of the lymph nodes, which makes the breasts appear larger.

"This case is the first to demonstrate a temporal association between PASH-related gigantomastia and a vaccine," experts from the University of Toronto wrote in a medical journal last month, GazetaExpress reports.

They also stressed that serious side effects from Covid vaccines are extremely rare and the benefits of getting the vaccine outweigh the potential complications.

According to official US data, serious side effects affect about one in 200,000 people.

CDC data also shows that only two serious side effects have been well-documented after the Covid vaccination – anaphylaxis and myocarditis or pericarditis, two types of heart damage.

The woman in this case had no other medical conditions. While her breasts appeared swollen and saggy, there were no masses or lumps.

An ultrasound and a CT scan revealed slightly swollen lymph nodes around her armpits and dense blood vessels, believed to be a result of enlarged breast tissue.

PASH is a benign breast condition found in fewer than 200 people worldwide since it was first described in 1986.

It usually causes non-cancerous lumps made up of cells called myofibroblasts.

However, there are only 20 known cases where PASH has caused extreme breast enlargement, and none of them have been previously linked to vaccines.

In 2021, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that Covid vaccines could lead to swollen lymph nodes, causing abnormal results on mammograms and breast ultrasounds.

However, they warned that this is a "normal reaction to the Covid vaccine and should not cause concern."

Experts in Toronto said further research is needed on the possible link between gigantomastia and Covid vaccines.

The woman underwent breast reduction surgery 11 months after her first Covid vaccine, moving to size DD.

During the surgery, doctors removed 8 pounds of tissue from her breast.

Although she has not experienced any further growth, her breasts are now asymmetrical.

She is considering further surgical interventions to correct this and restore her usual breast size. /Express newspaper/
