A new investigation by the Guardia di Finanza has uncovered a suspected network in Italy, accused of exploiting prostitution and organizing nightlife events in Milan, where famous Serie A footballers are suspected of participating.
According to reports by La Gazzetta dello Sport and other sources, around 50 Serie A players – including players from Milan and Inter – are suspected of being clients of this network.
However, no specific names have been released so far and no players are under criminal investigation.
The operation is part of an investigation by the Milan Prosecutor's Office, where four people have been placed under house arrest for organizing prostitution and money laundering.
Authorities have seized over 1.2 million euros suspected of being illegal income.
Investigators say the network operated as an events agency that organized parties in nightclubs and luxury hotels in Milan, where wealthy clients - including athletes and professional footballers - were offered escort services.
In some cases, the use of "laughing gas" (nitrous oxide) as a recreational substance is also suspected.
According to investigation documents, the organization offered "all-inclusive" packages with luxurious dinners, accommodation in expensive hotels, and the company of women recruited as escorts, who were then paid for their services.
Reports also mention that a Formula 1 driver is suspected of being involved in internal network communications, although here too no names have been confirmed.
Italian authorities emphasized that the clients are not currently the subject of an investigation, as at this stage no violence or criminal offense has been found on their part, but only the use of the services provided.
The investigation continues, while the case has caused strong reactions in Italian football due to the suspected involvement of elite players./Express newspaper/
