3700 water meters were stolen in the Municipality of Tetovo, but the case has not been filed with the prosecutor's office, Gazeta Express reports from Portalb.mk.
At the Municipal Council session, the councilor from 'Better for Tetovo', Agron Arifi, demanded accountability for the installation of water meters in 2025, while later the director of NPK 'Sharri', Valon Zeqiri, announced that 3700 water meters had been stolen.
"The water meters are those that have remained since 2014, there were a total of around 10 thousand water meters, but only 6 thousand have been installed, of which 3700 were stolen and the 300 that remained there we installed in Neighborhood 146," said Zeqiri.
But the case has not been reported to the Prosecutor's Office so far.
"Have you reported the theft to the Prosecutor's Office? This is a criminal offense, you as a leader have an obligation, you must report the abuses that occur in your company," said Agron Arifi.
Zeqiri said that they did not report it, since the incident did not occur during the period when he was in charge of the company, but that they were stolen 4 years ago.
Better for Tetovo has called on the Prosecutor's Office to investigate the case.
Portalb.mk asked the Prosecutor's Office whether they would act in this case, but this institution did not respond to journalistic questions.
