The final decision in the trial of former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague has been postponed to July 20.
Former PDK MP, Artan Behrami, in the "Special Edition" of Klan Kosova, criticized this decision as politically motivated.
He said that the Special Court did not function as an international, hybrid or local court, but according to him, it was a "purely political" institution that politically persecuted the leaders of the KLA.
"This is again a well-calculated political decision, since the Special Court has not functioned as a court for a long time, neither international, nor hybrid, nor at the level of Kosovo, nor of the Balkans, but is a purely political court, which has continuously taken care to politically persecute the leaders of the KLA, and this decision is political and is being made for the umpteenth time," said Behrami, reported Klankosova.tv.
He emphasized that "this court is surpassing even the courts of Tito's former Yugoslavia."
The former MP said that postponing this verdict will increase citizens' distrust of this court.
Behrami even said that there is no court in the democratic world that keeps citizens in detention for so long.
"In fact, even in Russia, the detainee has been held in custody for 3-4 years," he added.
Further, Behrami said that this postponement of the verdict is "a political postponement, it is related to the election campaign, and they do not want to interfere in an election campaign."
"But justice must be blind to political events."
