"Severance," "The White Lotus," "The Studio" and "Hacks" are among the series that earned top nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, with the 2025 nominees announced Tuesday morning.

“Severance,” an Apple TV+ series that just wrapped its second season, earned 27 total nominations, followed by 24 nominations for HBO Max’s “The Penguin,” and 23 nominations each for HBO Max’s “The White Lotus” and Apple TV+’s “The Studio,” which now joins “The Bear” for the most nominations a comedy series has garnered in a single year, HBO writes, according to the rtv21.tv portal.

Among this year's nominations is a first for veteran movie star Harrison Ford, who at age 83 earned his first Emmy nomination for his supporting role in the sitcom "Shrinking."

This year’s nominations were announced by actors Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and Brenda Song (“Running Point”). Two categories were revealed exclusively on “CBS Mornings” — the nominees for best reality competition series and best talk series.

Last year’s Emmy Awards were a crowning achievement for FX, with the cable network’s “Shōgun” and “The Bear” both winning by double digits, though the latter missed out on the top comedy award, which went instead to HBO’s “Hacks.” Netflix’s biggest player was in the limited series categories, where “Baby Reindeer” won multiple trophies.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on CBS on September 14, 2025, with comedian Nate Bargatze as host. He also received a nomination for his variety show “Your Friend, Nate Bargatze.”

"Adolescence" actor Owen Cooper has made history as the youngest actor ever nominated for an Emmy Award.
