Today, Deputy Minister of Finance, Hysni Mehani, was physically attacked by the mayor of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku.
As a result of the attack, Mehani is being treated at the Mitrovica Regional Hospital.
The Director of the Mitrovica Regional Hospital, Gëzim Berisha, said that Hysni Mehani will remain in the hospital until tomorrow, because he will undergo examinations.
"In addition to the more serious injuries to the face, there is difficulty walking, pain as if vomiting, the neurologist will monitor him until tomorrow," Berisha told "Mitropol".
Regarding this case, the MP of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Arjeta Fejza, who was with Hysni Mehani at the time of the attack, spoke out.
"Mr. Lushtaku approached and attacked Deputy Minister Mehani. First with a phone, then with a hand, then with a glass, as you had the opportunity to see the damage on his face. When the secretary of our center, Bardh Zabeli, tried to intervene to calm the situation, to separate them a little, to prevent that physical clash from continuing, he was also attacked by several other people around him, whom I do not know who they are, nor do I recognize them, but they were with Mr. Lushtaku at that moment," Fejza declared.
