Czech President mentions again Kosovo’s derecognition: We should correct mistake of 2008
Czech President, Milos Zeman, has returned
again to his initiative on withdrawing of Kosovo’s recognition of Independence.
Appearing in TV Barandov, Zeman said his
proposal on derecognitions Kosovo will be discussed during a meeting of Czech
state officials in October. Zeman
further said that his country should correct the mistake made in 2008 when
Czech Republic recognised Kosovo’s Independence. He said that the Government
headed by Mirek Topolanek, made a mistake which needs to be revisited. Zeman
mentioned for the first time recognition of Kosovo during a visit to Belgrade
triggering media focus in both Belgrade and Pristina. The Foreign Ministry of
Czech Republic issued a statement last week saying that the issue of
independence is a done deal.
