Kosovo president, Hashim Thaci, hosted today the chairwoman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), Valdete Daka.
The President’s Office said that Thaci and Daka have discussed on organising mayoral elections in Podujeva and Mitrovica North, Gazeta Express reports. “President Thaci and chairwoman Daka discussed possibility of organising early mayoral elections in municipalities of Podujeva and Mitrovica North,” it is written in the statement.
Two former mayors, Agim Veliu of Pdujeva and Goran Rakic of Mitrovica North resigned and joined the Government of Kosovo, leaving their positions vacant. Thaci postponed elections aimed at prevention of further spread of COVID-19. /GazetaExpress/
