Kosovo President Hashim Thaci who is attending the meeting of the Western Balkan leaders and the highest EU representatives in Sofia, Bulgaria, met on Thursday the host of the meeting, Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov.
During his visit to Bulgaria President Thaci will participate in the joint meeting of the leaders of the Western Balkans with the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, the EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini, and Commissioner Johannes Hahn. The President will also held bilateral meetings with the state leaders of the Western Balkans. Thaci and Borissov agreed that the EU Strategy on Western Balkans is a good opportunity for the region countries to join the EU. “We are aware that the EU membership of Western Balkan countries depends from the capacity and quality of fulfilling of the state reforms by aspiring countries, but above all the ability of overcoming problems between the countries,” Thaci said after the meeting, according to a press release issued by his Office.
Bulgarian PM, Boyko Borissov, said that his country will continue supporting Kosovo and its EU integration path, noting that integration of all regional countries, brings stability, cooperation and welfare for all.
