Delegations of Kosovo and Serbia are staying in Brussels where they will hold separate meetings with the EU officials.
Kosovo delegation headed by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj travelled to Brussels on Thursday to attend the second meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council (SAA) between the European Union and Kosovo.
In addition, a Serbian delegation, headed by Prime Minster Ana Branbic, also travelled to Brussels to conduct separate meetings.
Unlike Kosovo, Serbia will hold the fourth meeting with the EU on SAA implementation. However, it is highly unlikely that Haradinaj will meet his Serbian counterpart while in Brussels.
Avni Arifi, political advisor to Haradinaj, told Express on Thursday that the Prime Minister will not meet Serbian politicians while in Brussels, referring to the Serbian prime minister.
“The Prime Minister of Kosovo will not meet Serbian officials,” he said.
Branabic has with EU foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini on Thursday morning.
The Government of Kosovo approved documents on Wednesday that are necessary for the second EU-Kosovo meeting on SAA implementation.
“The document shows Kosovo’s commitment to full implementation of the SAA, as key to Kosovo-EU relations. Focus in its implementation is also a roadmap for Kosovo towards obtaining candidate status for EU membership, which remains one of the key priorities of the Republic of Kosovo,” the press release issued by the Government of Kosovo on Wednesday states.
