First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, is convinced the Draft Law on ratification of the state border between Kosovo and Montenegro will be ratified this week. Pacolli also denied that Serbian MPs are conditioning vote on demarcation.
Pacolli said he believes the demarcation will be concluded this week. He made the comments during an interview with the daily Zeri adding that ratification of the demarcation will be done within days and he expects Srpska List MPs will vote for its ratification. He denied that Srpska List is not conditioning ratification of demarcation asking establishment of the Serb-majority Municipalities in return. Kosovo Parliament has failed last week for the third time to ratify the deal after Serbian MPs who are part of the ruling coalition boycotted the session. The opposition party of Vetevendosje is opposing the agreement claiming Kosovo loses territory. Ratification of the border agreement with Montenegro is one of the last criteria for Kosovo to get visa liberalisation with the EU. Pacolli said that after ratification of demarcation he will begin a world tour as part of his lobbying activities for visa liberalisation as well as Kosovo’s membership into international organisations.
