The US Ambassador Greg Delawie in a picture posted in his Twitter account when he is seen accompanied by Mitrovica North mayor Goran Rakic, confirmed on Monday that the work on revitalisation of the EU bridge has resumed.  “I am happy to see work resuming on the Mitrovica bridge! There is no alternative to the Brussels Dialogue and success depends on implementing each agreement,” Delawie wrote. The bridge over the Iber river dividing the town in ethnic lines with Albanians living in the south and Serbs in the north, is being revitalised based on an agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia during the EU-facilitated dialogue in Brussels. The EU is also financing the revitalisation of the bridge which became symbol of ethnical division in Kosovo. The work on revitalisation of the bridge which was ment to open last year was suspended by Mitrovica North mayor Goran Rakic citing security concerns.

Delawie during his trip to northern part of Kosovo visited also Mitrovica Basic Court when he met the president Nikola Kabasic. “All citizens in Kosovo need access to justice. I'm happy to visit Judge Kabasic and his team working to get the Mitrovica Basic Court up and running,” Delawie wrote confirming that the US Embassy  and USAID Kosovo will continue to support justice integration.
