Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs, Flamur Sefaj, says the Kosovo Police knows the name of the owner of the torched car used in the murder of Kosovo Serb politician, Oliver Ivanovic, killed on 16 January in Mitrovica North.
Minister of Interior Sefaj says the Kosovo Police has confirmed that two Kosovo Police officers of Serbian community were involved in manipulating evidence related to Ivanovic’s killing, and confirmed that the police have identified the owner of the car used in the murder of Ivanovic who was gunned down before his political party headquarters in Mitrovica North inhabited mainly by Serbs. Earlier in February the Kosovo Police arrested two of its officers suspected of manipulating evidence, namely removing bullet cartridges from the scene. Later the court cleared them of these allegations. Talking about the owner of the car, Sefaj during an interview with the TV channel KTV said that the owner of the car is located in Serbia, confirming that Kosovo authorities have asked police in Serbia to launch an investigation. “The information we got from Serbian police were very vague and the investigation is ongoing. We expect more information from Serbia. We know the name and last name of the car owner who is citizen of Serbia,” Sefaj said.
Sefaj says that Serbia has politicized this case and blamed Serbia for lack of cooperation. “Information proceeded from Serbia are insufficient. Serbia has politicized the case,” minister of Interior stated.
