German Embassy to Kosovo in a statement to Gazeta Express called on Kosovo MPs to ratify the demarcation with Montenegro. According to the German Embassy in Pristina, the ratification of this deal is very important for citizens of Kosovo, especially when it comes to visa liberalisation with the EU Schengen area. “The ratification of the Agreement on border demarcation is crucial step towards visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens. We strongly encourage political parties to cooperate and reach a consensus,” the German Embassy told Gazeta Express in a written statement. According to the German Embassy reaching of a consensus is in the interest of all citizens of Kosovo and a joint responsibility needs to be taken for the country.
Also the US Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, asked members of Kosovo Parliament to vote against the isolation and pro the future of the country. The Parliament will convene today at 10:00 and remains unknown whether ruling parties have managed to get 80 votes needed to ratify the demarcation agreement. The head of the PDK parliamentary group, Memli Krasniqi, said on Tuesday that they have 78 votes, confirming that they are short of two votes. The Speaker of Parliament and chairman of the PDK during an interview with Klan Kosova TV on Tuesday evening expressed his optimism that the demarcation will be ratified today. /GazetaExpress/
