Lobbying activities of Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, to convince countries to reconsider Kosovo’s recognition, are not succeeding. Recently he tried to convince Gambia to revoke recognition, but this African country took an opposite decision, Gazeta Express reports.
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli, wrote on Facebook that the state of Gambia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with Kosovo. “Good news for the state of Kosovo and strengthening of its statehood internationally. Despite desperate efforts of our northern neighbour, the Republic of Kosovo continues reaching successes,” he wrote. According to Pacolli, the good news from Gambia comes at the time when Kosovo’s opponents are lobbying against Kosovo’s statehood. “We will establish diplomatic relations with Gambia within days, by accrediting our non-resident ambassador to this country,” Pacolli wrote and thanked the President of Gambia, the Government, and its citizens.
